George Samson came to the U.S. in 1991 by invitation from the CEO of World Medical Relief to provide assistance to the victims of Mt. Pinatubo's eruption. Having been involved in community service as a teen, he knows the importance of being charitable, of people helping other people. Dr. Samson attended the Angeles University Foundation, in the Philippines, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Management and a Doctorate in Public Administration.
After one year of service at World Medical Relief, the Board voted to keep him here, and George stayed on as a volunteer in the surgical area and expanded the International Program. Because of his commitment and dedication to this Program, he joined the staff of World Medical Relief and became its Director of International Programs. Within 8 years, he was promoted to Director of Operations. He was appointed President & CEO in 2009. His favorite motto? "Turning the sins of waste into miracles of mercy."
